What is Soy Wax Batik?

Soy Wax is a wonderful alternative to traditional batik wax, is eco friendly, and is much easier to use. It creates a resist pattern on the fabric so that when you apply Ice Dyeing techniques you achieve spectacular results with even more depth and texture. It’s a fabric design favorite of quilters and beyond.

This class deals with basic dye chemistry, how soy wax and ice dye are different from traditional dyeing, and covers the steps to a satisfying end product. There are a number of variables at play whenever you are using soy wax and dye, and we will touch on various different scenarios and outcomes.
