Who Is Nick Coman?

Nick has been a lifelong sewer, that passion for sewing has carried him into a career as a Surface designer and Professional pattern maker.

Nick has a degree in Fashion Design from FIDM in Los Angeles California and has been the in-house costume designer for a number of Hollywood area event companies. He also keeps a busy schedule traveling to shows, teaching pattern making, fitting, and surface design.

Nick has been published in Sew News, Threads Magazine, Machine Quilting unlimited, and one of his gowns appeared in a special article in Brides Magazine. Nick is also the co-author of a surface design book. 

Nick has an online shop featuring a selection of art to wear patterns under the Dragonfly Creative name.

His most recent undertaking is as the owner of Dragonfly Creative, a teaching  studio for fiber artists, in the beautiful town of Ridgway, located in the stunning rocky mountains of South West Colorado

Nick lives in Ridgway, CO with his husband Rick.  Their menagerie consists of dog Tibbs and three cats, Mochii, Miso, and Soba. Plus the occasional apple eating bear.
